Experience our newest exhibition: Paths to Peace
What is peace – and what does it take to build it?
Throughout history, our understanding of peace has continually evolved. Is peace simply the absence of war and violence, or does lasting peace also require justice, restoration and reconciliation?
Join us for a thought-provoking guided tour of Paths to Peace, the Nobel Peace Center’s newest exhibition. Discover different ideas about peace and stories of the people who have worked to create it. At a time marked by war and conflict, we ask: Can history help us find new paths to peace?
The guided tour takes place indoors and lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Times:
17:30 - Norwegian
18:30 – English
No registration is required for the guided tours inside the Nobel Peace Center. However, the space is limited – so first come first served.
Nobel Peace Walk
Join us for a walk through Nobel and Peace Prize history in Oslo!
The Nobel Peace Walk takes you through central Oslo and into the history of the world’s most prestigious peace prize. Along the way, we follow in the footsteps of Nobel Peace Prize laureates and explore the people, places and dramatic moments that have shaped the prize’s history.
Hear about laureates who were unable to attend their own award ceremonies, what the first Norwegian Nobel Committee looked like, and the drama surrounding the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Desmond Tutu.
The walk takes place outdoors, is conducted in English and lasts approximately 75–90 minutes. The route is accessible for wheelchair users and visitors with prams. Remember to dress for the weather!
Times:
16:00 - English
19:30 - English
Each walking tour has a maximum capacity of 50 participants. Places often fill up quickly during Oslo Culture Night – so be sure to register early!
Open museum
Parts of the Nobel Peace Center, including the second floor, are temporarily closed while we renovate and make room for new experiences.
In the meantime, you can explore Paths to Peace, A Will to Change the World and An Exhibition about Dialogue and Peace. More exciting experiences are on the way.
