Picturing peace through 125 years

December 2026 marks 125 years since the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded for the first time. We are celebrating this milestone with a new exhibition developed in collaboration with NTB.
Drawing on powerful and thought-provoking photographs from one of Norway’s most extensive photo archives, the exhibition invites visitors to take a closer look at the events that have formed the backdrop to the Nobel Peace Prize, from global conflicts and crises to the moments and individuals honoured by the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through 125 years of world history, seen through the lenses of photographers who have documented war, hope, resistance, and efforts to build peace.

The exhibition opens on 12 December 2026. Visitors will, however, have an exclusive opportunity to experience the exhibition in advance during the Nobel Peace Center’s Late Night Open event on 18 November.
