The Nobel Peace Prize laureates will open the exhibition about themselves and a new landmark will be unveiled outside the Nobel Peace Center.

Unveiling of the peace bench “The Best Weapon”

Wednesday 8 December 16:00 CET - City Hall Square, Oslo

A six-meter-long installation, designed by Snøhetta for the Nobel Peace Center, “The Best Weapon” is inspired by the Mandela quote “The best weapon is to sit down and talk”. The peace bench will be placed outside the Nobel Peace Center to encourage peaceful conversation and dialogue. After the unveiling, the Peace Center will launch a new dialogue project with an event featuring former Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland and member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee Jørgen Watne Frydnes, among others.

Save the Children Peace Prize Party

Friday 10 December at 11:00 CET - City Hall Square, Oslo

A show made by and for children, with the Nobel Peace Prize laureates as guests of honour. HRH Crown Princess Mette Marit will be present. Children from 5th, 6th or 7th grade are welcome in the audience.

Official opening of the Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition

Saturday 11 December at 16:45 - Nobel Peace Center, Oslo

Each year, the Nobel Peace Center creates a new photo exhibition about the Nobel Peace Prize laureate in collaboration with internationally acclaimed photographers. This year’s exhibition about Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov will be officially opened by the laureates themselves in a closed event the day after the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony. The exhibition will be open to the public from 12 December.

Press preview of the Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition

Welcome to a preview of the Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition. The exhibition will show new photo series by internationally acclaimed documentary photographers, made on commission from the Nobel Peace Center in Russia and the Philippines in October/November 2021.
