Architecture tour for peace lovers

A guided tour about the concept behind the Nobel Peace Center.

  • For booking, please contact us
  • Duration: 45 minutes

This guided tour isn’t about the Nobel Peace Prize, but about the transformation of Vestbanen, which used to be a railway station, into a modern museum. The concept behind the Nobel Peace Center was created by British architect David Adjaye. Come and hear about Vestbanen’s history and Adjaye’s brilliant “spacial manipulation”. The tour will also take a detour by our café which hosts Chris Ofili’s mural Earth Major Minor in Yellow and Green.

A tour of the Peace Wall outside the Nobel Peace Center.

The Peace Wall hides the construction site of the new National Museum and has become an arena for contemporary art. Unknown Numbers was created by Shwan Dler Qaradaki og Johannes Høie in only four weeks and pays tribute to freedom of speech. Eight big portraits cover the wall, who are these people? And how much did they sacrifice in their fight for free speech?
