Alfred.

Note! Alfred will be closed until further notice, due to a minor fire on the premises 17 June.

Alfred is a café with locally sourced, sustainably produced and seasonal foods. We welcome the Nobel Peace Center visitors, passers-by, tourists and neighbours alike to an informal and relaxed atmosphere inside and in our outdoor serving area.

Food communicates and creates dialogue across cultures and borders. The British artist Chris Ofili’s mural Earth Major Minor in Yellow and Green illustrates a peaceful world without borders.

In the same way, we want the café to be a place for communication. Inspired by the artwork, we have chosen green as the red thread in our café. Green is the colour of reconciliation, of nature, life and freedom. We believe in these values, and we believe in locally sourced, sustainably produced and seasonal foods.

Take a look at what is currently on our menu.

Contenment is the only real wealth.
- Alfred Nobel (1833–1896)

Alfred will be the venue for future Nobel Peace Center events, with a small stage available. Here, the visitors can enjoy good food and beverages in combination with interesting, exciting and topical lectures, conversations, debates and cultural refill.

Anyone can book Alfred for meetings and private parties. The café has a chambre separée, an enclosed room, available to rent. Contact us to learn more about the possibilities for your group.

Good food reconciles. Good food creates contentment.

We are open daily from 10.00 to 18.00.
We of course have free WiFi!

Phone +47 90 57 16 54 or write an e-mail to alfred@nobelpeacecenter.org to book a table or to rent Alfred for your event.
