Alfred.

Alfred is a café with locally sourced, sustainably produced and seasonal foods. We welcome the Nobel Peace Center visitors, passers-by, tourists and neighbours alike to an informal and relaxed atmosphere inside and in our outdoor serving area.

Our Finnish Head Chef Joni Leskinen is inspired by his time at Maaemo, one of the best eco restaurants in the business. He has composed a menu combining craftmanship and carefully selected and local produce. Swedish Mattias Åstrand is our new chef in Alfred. He shares Joni’s love of the season based Nordic kitchen, and with an extra thought to both produce and guests, the dishes they create are both surprising and tasty.

Take a look at what is currently on our menu.

Contenment is the only real wealth.
- Alfred Nobel (1833–1896)

At Alfred you can book your meetings and private parties. There is seating for 50 guest and room for 70 standing guest. The café has a chambre separée, an enclosed room with seating for ten, available to rent. Contact us to learn more about the possibilities for your group.

The British artist Chris Ofili’s mural Earth Major Minor in Yellow and Green illustrates a peaceful world without borders. In the same way, we want the café to be a place for communication. Inspired by the artwork, we have chosen green as the red thread in our café. Green is the colour of reconciliation, of nature, life and freedom.

Alfred is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10.00 to 18.00.

We of course have free WiFi!

Phone +47 90 57 16 54 or write an e-mail to alfred@nobelpeacecenter.org to book a table or to rent Alfred for your event.

Welcome!
