Guided Tours

Would you like to book a private guided tour for your group? Please contact us on or +47 48 30 10 00 (Monday–Friday 9.00–12.00). The price is 1,500 NOK during our opening hours and 2,500 NOK outside our opening hours. We also offer regular guided tours, open for everyone.

We have several different options if you want a private guided tour:


A general tour of all our current exhibitions.

  • Reservations are required. Up to 30 people per group
  • Duration: 45 minutes

Who was Alfred Nobel? What is the Nobel Peace Prize? What can make peace?

On this tour our knowledgeable guides take you through the different parts of the building. In our permanent installations you will hear the story of Alfred Nobel’s life and how the Nobel Peace Prize came about, and you will hear about various Peace Prize laureates and their work. Architecture tour for peace lovers

A guided tour about the concept behind the Nobel Peace Center.

This guided tour isn’t about the Nobel Peace Prize, but about the transformation of Vestbanen, which used to be a railway station, into a modern museum. The concept behind the Nobel Peace Center was created by British architect David Adjaye. Come and hear about Vestbanen’s history and Adjaye’s brilliant “spacial manipulation”. The tour will also take a detour by our café which hosts Chris Ofili’s mural Earth Major Minor in Yellow and Green.

The Peace Wall hides the construction site of the new National Museum and has become an arena for contemporary art. Unknown Numbers was created by Shwan Dler Qaradaki og Johannes Høie in only four weeks and pays tribute to freedom of speech. Eight big portraits cover the wall, who are these people? And how much did they sacrifice in their fight for free speech?
