Security policy with Bård Vegar Solhjell
06 April 2017 18.00–19.00
The Norwegian Atlantic Committee and the Nobel Peace Center invite you to a debate with Bård Vegar Solhjell on Thursday 6 April.
After 25 years in Norwegian politics, Bård Vegar Solhjell will leave the Parliament following the elections this coming fall. In late March, he launched his book on the political situation in Europe and Norway.
On 6 April he will come to the Nobel Peace Center. As a former deputy of SV, a member of two governments and member of the Norwegian Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence, he knows first hand how security and foreign policy characterises the Norwegian political debate, and whether or not it influences the elections.
When Solhjell announced his retirement, it became clear that he was actually in favour of the Norwegian membership of NATO, despite SV being an anti-NATO party. But what does he think of the EU? What does he believe should characterize our foreign, defense and security policy in the years to come?
Come and hear Christian Borch in dialogue with Bård Vegar Solhjell, on Thursday 6 April at 18.00.
The debate will be in Norwegian.
