How to join the celebration of the Nobel Peace Prize

This year’s Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to Colombia’s president Juan Manuel Santos, and in December he will come to Oslo to receive the prize. Join the celebrations!

Here is an overview of the public events:


13.00 Come to the Nobel Peace Center to watch the live transmission of the Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony. The event is free and open for everyone from 12.30 – 14.30.
The Nobel Peace Center will only be open for the transmission of the ceremony. The rest of the museum will be closed.

17.30 Torch light parade. Meet up by the tiger outside Oslo Central Station. Speeches and music will set off the parade towards the Grand Hotel where the Nobel Peace Prize laureate will appear on the balcony to greet everyone. The event is open to all and free. More information here.

sundaY 11 DECEMBER:

19.00 The annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert takes place at Telenor Arena. Highasakite, Halsey, Sting, Icona Pop & Juanes are among the artists honouring the Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Read more and buy tickets here.


The Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition 2016 opens to the public. The Nobel Peace Center is open 12:00 – 18:00. Guided tours in English at 14.00 and Norwegian at 15.00.
