Iraqi-Kurdistan after the battle of Mosul

20 April 2017 18.00–20.00

In cooperation with The Norwegian Atlantic Commitee, we welcome you to a timely seminar about a war-torn region in the Middle East. The battle to free Mosul from ISIL is ongoing and is part of an offensive backed by an international coalition force. What will the region look like after the eventual fall of ISIL? What does the future hold for the Kurdistan Regional Government?

With us to reflect on these issues we have invited:

Vian Dakhil Saeed – member of the Iraqi parliament
Hoshyar Siwaily – head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) Foreign Relations Office

Both speakers join us directly from Iraq with the latest updates from the “ground”! We will also focus on the regional and international aspects.

Introductions will be given by Chalak Kaveh, who holds a PhD in history from the University of Oslo. He is currently working on a book about Kurdistan and will draw the backdrop of the night’s debate.

Moderator will be Stig Arild Pettersen, a well-known journalist and podcast host (DuVerden!).

Following the introductory remarks and panel discussion we will open up for questions from the audience. The seminar will be held in English and is free of charge!

Welcome!
