How to join the Nobel Peace Prize celebration

This year’s Nobel Peace Prize is the children’s Prize. Malala Yousafzai from Pakistan is 17 years and the youngest Peace Prize laureate in history. She fights for children, especially girl’s right to an education. Kailash Satyarthi from India fights to abolish child labor, and to make sure children have a safe life to learn and play.
The laureates will visit Oslo in December, and you can join in on the celebration! Here is an overview over the public events during the Nobel Days. Keep in mind that most of the events have limited space.
Wednesday 10 December:
11.00 On Rådhusplassen (City Hall Square) outside the Nobel Peace Center, the Save the Children Peace Prize Party takes place. There are thousands of specially invited children who will occupy the space in front of the stage. But the City Hall Square is open to the public, so there will be possible to enjoy the celebration from outside the fence.
13.00 Inside the Nobel Peace Center there will be a live transmission of the Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony. The event is free and open for everyone, but has limited seating.
17.00 The Indian-Pakistani Peace Prize Celebration in Gamle Logen is a joint event by the Indian and Pakistani society in Oslo to celebrate the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and their work for children’s rights. Artists and speakers from Pakistan, India and Norway, including Shazhad Roy, Raageshwari Loomb and Falak Shabir. Tickets are on sale by calling 22 33 22 66 or by mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. They must be collected at Gamle Logen, open Mon–Fri 9–15. Important: The ticket is personal, and a valid ID must be presented at the entrance.
17.30 Torch light parade. Meeting point is by the tiger statue in Jernbanetorget. Speeches and music will set off the parade towards the Grand Hotel to celebrate the Nobel Peace Prize laureates. The event is open to all and free. Spread the word and join in! More information here.
Thursday 11 December
20.00 The annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert takes place in Oslo Spektrum Queen Latifah hosts the concert where artists like Steven Tyler, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Laura Mulva and Gabrielle will perform. Buy your ticket here.
Friday 12 December
As of noon 12 December through 30 December, the Nobel Peace Center invites all to continue the celebration of the laureates by free entry to the Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition 2014 – Malala og Kailash and to the anniversary exhibition Peace at Work.
