10 April 2017 10.00 - 17 April 2017 18.00
Easter break in the city? We offer exhibitions and activities for young and old, every day throughout Easter. Bring the children, and say hello to our popular friend Fred.
We are open every day, from 10.00 to 18.00, during the Easter holiday. Guided tours are included in your ticket, and take place in English at 14.00, and in Norwegian at 15.00, in the weekend, and every day from Thursday 13 April, through Monday 17 April.
ARE YOU VISITING WITH CHILDREN?
Children under 16 years of age always enjoy free entry at the Nobel Peace Center.
Fred has decided to not go skiing this Easter, and will be at the center every day, from Monday to Friday (10–14 April) at 12.00, to meet the children.
Explore the center with Fred & Toca Loca and try the activity trail Fred & Toca Loca speak out. All children have the right to be heard, and it is important to speak out about things that are unfair. Along the way, the children will practice just that.
We are currently showing the exhibition Detours, about people in forced displacement. The exhibition is made up of several smaller displays and installations, that depict life as a refugee, in widely differing ways. Through photography and contemporary art, and using the refugees’ own images and stories, the audience will draw closer to those who have been forced to flee from Syria.
The Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition 2016 – Hope over Fear is a strong portrait of President Juan Manuel Santos, and the Colombian people. Photographer Mads Nissen has created an intimate and powerful portrait of the Colombian people, tired of war and violence, longing for peace, and building it day by day.
It is also the final weeks for the art work Unknown Numbers, outside the Nobel Peace Center.
SHOP AND CAFÉ
In the museum shop you will find sustainable and fair trade Easter decorations, as well as a wide range inspirational books.
The coffee shop Stockfleths has moved into the Nobel Peace Center and serves the most delightful coffee.
Welcome to the Nobel Peace Center, at Rådhusplassen / City Hall Square!
