Debate: Peace as a business idea

In collaboration with the foundation Business for Peace, the Nobel Peace Center invites you to a debate with the theme: “Peace as a business idea”.
This years Oslo Business for Peace Award is coming up. The award is a honor to business leaders who work to create value for society as well as their business. This year it’s three recipients, and Chairman Tore Lærdal in Lærdal Medical is one of them. Thursday 14 April at 18.00, he and other interesseting guests will discuss “Peace as a business idea”. The panel will discuss how businesses could and should play a part in the work for peace, the environment and development. Is the companies who participates in development- and peace work motivated by profit or charity? And is it acceptable to make money in poor, devastated countries? The panel will also explore good and bad outcomes of involvement and what businesses should do.
